The drivetrain that makes hydraulics redundant

Every EXD machine is built on a Powered Motion drivetrain — the IP that does away with the hydraulic system entirely.

The core idea

Hydraulics are how nearly every loader, skid steer and utility machine puts power to work — and they're heavy, leaky, and inefficient. Powered Motion's drivetrain doesn't just make them optional; it makes them redundant, replacing the entire circuit — pump, hoses, valves and fluid — with a reduction gearbox driven directly by BLDC motors.

The result is a driveline that outputs around 10 kN, runs near-silent, produces zero emissions, and has far fewer parts to service — which is exactly what makes the EXD range possible.

How it works

Four parts, one clean driveline

Reduction gearbox, not hydraulics

A patented ~10 kN output reduction gearbox replaces the hydraulic circuit — delivering high torque at the wheel and tool without a pump, hoses or fluid to fail.

Direct-drive BLDC motors (~3 kW)

Brushless DC motors drive the gearbox directly. Instant, precise torque control and high efficiency, with a fraction of the moving parts of a combustion driveline.

Interchangeable battery packs

Swappable packs keep a platform working while a spare charges — no downtime waiting on a single fixed battery.

Fewer failure points

No engine, fuel system or hydraulic pump. The primary and secondary control boards and motor controller manage everything, and there's simply less to go wrong or maintain.
