Shed cleanout without running diesel inside

The HandE-C is remote-controlled and has no engine. On the narrow-tyre option it comes down to about 718 mm — through a standard doorway — and it leaves nothing in the air behind it.

The job as it is done now

A diesel machine, inside a shed, with the doors mostly shut

Between batches the litter has to come out, and the machine that does it is usually a diesel skid steer. It works. It is also a combustion engine running for hours in a long, enclosed building that was designed to hold warmth in, not to ventilate exhaust out.

The alternatives are worse rather than better: a petrol loader parked at the door and barrows for the rest, or waiting on a contractor whose window does not match your turnaround. Either way the clean-out is the part of the changeover that sets the pace.

What the HandE-C is

It fits through the door, and nobody rides it

800 mm wide as standard, or about 718 mm on the optional narrow solid non-marking tyres — which is what takes it through a standard doorway, where the clear opening is nearer 750 mm than 820. Specify that option if the machine has to get inside. Fully remote-controlled, so the operator walks beside it in the fresh air at the door rather than sitting over the work in the dust. No engine and no exhaust emissions.

It lifts 350 kg to 1.8 m and weighs about the same, which matters on a shed floor. Five 3 kWh packs give 15 kWh, with room for two more, good for eight hours of normal material handling — carrying, lifting, tipping, cleaning out — and they swap tool-free in about a minute, so a spare set is the difference between stopping at lunchtime and finishing the shed. Charge off a normal power point overnight. No fuel to cart in, no jerry cans, nothing to spill.

Bucket and forks come with it. A bin, auger and 4-in-1 are built to order, and implements are built to 720 mm so the narrow configuration is not wasted. Non-marking is the factory standard for indoor tyres rather than an upgrade — worth having on a shed floor and essential in a food plant.

* Eight hours is normal material handling. Heavy powered implements draw several times as much and will not run a full day on one set of packs. Tell us the job and we will tell you straight what it will do.

The air inside

Nothing added to what you are already breathing

Shed air during a clean-out is already carrying dust, ammonia and whatever the litter has been doing for several weeks. A diesel engine adds exhaust to that, in a building with the doors mostly shut.

The HandE-C has no engine, so it adds no exhaust emissions to the shed at all. That is the whole of the claim we make for it — what your own shed needs by way of ventilation is a question for your regulator or an occupational hygienist, not for us.

Worth knowing, though: from 1 December 2026 diesel particulate has a legally enforceable limit in Australia, and Safe Work Australia’s own guidance puts replacing diesel-powered plant with electric at the top of the control hierarchy.

Where it is up to

In development, and we would rather hear the job than guess at it

The HandE-C is in development and we are taking the first build slots now. We have not run one through a thousand sheds, and we are not going to pretend otherwise — the machine will be better for being specified against real clean-outs rather than our assumptions about them.

So tell us your shed: the door width, how the litter comes out now, how long the turnaround is and what goes wrong in it. If the machine is not right for your job we will say so.
